How do I research public records without having to pay a fee to a company?

  2. Your question is puzzling. Are the records those of the state or the government? Are the records those of a business operating within any jurisdiction or jurisdictions? Companies are required to provide information to the state and that is public information available from each company directly or from the state agency that collects the information. If records are those of the government, and collected by the government, each office may and most often does charge a fee for making copies.
